What is the CITB Health and Safety Awareness Course?
Our CITB Health and Safety Awareness Course (HSA) is CITB accredited and delivered by our in-house qualified and experienced course instructors.
This one day health and safety course is designed to teach individuals the health and safety requirements when working on a construction site and highlight their responsibilities and legal duties.
Successfully completing a level 1 health and safety awareness course is a major step towards obtaining the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) Green Labourer card which is a requirement for labourers/operatives on the vast majority of construction sites within the UK
All of our CITB Health and Safety Awareness (Site Safety Plus) courses run from:- 08:30 – 16:30.

Course Detail
The CITB Health and Safety Awareness course highlights the potential hazards you will face when working on a construction site and provides the practical advice you will need to keep yourself and your colleagues safe.
This Health and Safety Awareness (HSA) training course forms part of the CITB Site Safety Plus scheme and is intended for individuals considering or already working in the construction industry.
Accreditation & Recognition
This HSA Training course is accredited by the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) and recognised by BuildUK as meeting the required standard for all individuals working on BuildUK sites.
On successful completion of this course you will receive a certificate from the CITB that will be valid for 5 years. In order to remain certified however, you will need to retake the course before the certificate expiry date.
Pre-Requisites
The minimum entry requirement for the CITB Health and Safety Awareness course is a good understanding of spoken and written English.
Further Studying and Progression
Once candidates have successfully passed this one day health and safety awareness training course, the next step would be to enrol on a SSSTS programme, which takes place over the course of two days. Those who have progressed to a more senior level will then be advised to attend the five day SMSTS training course.
