An accepted way of achieving this is through the adoption of the management process outlined in BS 5975:2019, which introduces the temporary works supervisor (TWS) as a key figure.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis course explains the role and its overall management context. Temporary works on both smaller and larger sites can be high risk activities. Therefore,\u003cbr\u003eunderstanding the essentials of good risk management, as outlined in BS 5975:2019, is relevant for projects of all sizes. They will need to have a working knowledge of all associated legislation, specifically the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 in terms of its intentions and compliance. Learners must also have a thorough understanding of health and safety principles and understand the importance of risk management, design\u003cbr\u003econsiderations, inspection and testing and recording and monitoring requirements.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eLearners who have achieved a certificate approved against the Health and Safety in Construction Site Supervision standard (such as \u003ca href=\"\/collections\/citb-site-supervisor-safety-training-scheme-sssts\"\u003eSSSTS\u003c\/a\u003e or \u003ca href=\"\/collections\/citb-site-supervisor-safety-training-scheme-refresher-sssts-r\"\u003eSSSTS-R\u003c\/a\u003e) or the Health and Safety in Construction Site Management standard (such as \u003ca href=\"\/collections\/citb-site-management-safety-training-scheme-smsts\"\u003eSMSTS\u003c\/a\u003e or \u003ca href=\"\/collections\/citb-site-management-safety-training-scheme-refresher-smsts-r\"\u003eSMSTS-R\u003c\/a\u003e) will have gained the knowledge to meet these expectations. It is a pass or fail assessment. This is an interactive course where learners are expected to actively engage and participate in discussions and group exercises. Trainers will expect all learners to work collaboratively, make decisions, listen to others’ point of view, work towards a common goal during activities and actively contribute to discussion.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eTo assist in achieving this all learners are expected to participate within a private, quiet environment with no disruptions. Should a learner fail the trainer review they would not be allowed to proceed to the examination.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eExamination\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe 45-minute examination paper consists of 22 questions, 19 multiple choice and 3 free text questions. The pass mark is 78% or 21 out of 27. It is an open book examination, allowing learners to use their course delegate workbook and any notes that they have taken. The examination is completed under examination conditions.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThose learners who achieve 17 or more marks out of 27 will be offered the opportunity to resit the examination using a different test paper. The resit will be offered on the same day.
