IPAF Operator 3a + 3b Online Course (E-Learning)
IPAF's e-learning training provides a flexible and enhanced online learning experience for mobile elevating work platform (MEWP) Operators. It can be completed on various devices anytime, anywhere, at your own pace. The course cover 2 categories - 3a (Mobile Scissor) + 3b (Mobile Boom) MEWP operator eLearning does not replace practical training. Trainees who complete the online training course must still complete a 4 hour practical training and testing session before qualifying for and being issued with a PAL Card as proof of success operator training.

Course Content
The IPAF Operator 3a + 3b e-learning is broken down into manageable sections that you can complete at your own pace and can save and resume your training at any time.
The practical training and assessment at one of our IPAF-approved training centres will cover the following:
- Introduction to the machine and MEWP familiarisation
- Identification of major components
- Pre-use checks and inspection starting / stopping the machine
- Checks prior to road travel
- Planning the route
- Travelling the route and manoeuvring the machine
- Setting the machine for work Basic operation
- Typical work applications
- Parking the machine
Certification
On successful completion, you will receive an e-Receipt. You will then need to book to complete the practical session within 90 days of your successful e-learning completion, at one of our 20 training centres located throughout the UK.
Additional Information
The e-learning module uses facial recognition, so a device with a front facing camera is required. This could either be a laptop or a tablet, for example.

For short courses a completion certificate is available at the end of the course. You can screenshot this or print it out to confirm completion of the training.
For accredited courses a certificate will be sent directly to you from the appropriate awarding body.
To join online courses, delegates have to log in via a link provided through a computer or laptop with a camera, screen, microphone and access to the internet.

Once the courses have been completed, a confirmation of results can be saved or printed as evidence. This can then be kept on record as evidence of suitable training.
