Day-time Course Time

09:00 - 16:00

Why take this course?

The LU Worksite Safety & Security Induction (LU-WSSI) is a mandatory requirement for anyone accessing London Underground infrastructure. It ensures you understand the working environments across the network and equips you with the knowledge to work safely, securely, and responsibly.

What does the training involve?

The induction introduces you to:

  • The different environments within the London Underground network
  • Location-specific risks and how to respond appropriately
  • Key safety and security procedures
  • London Underground’s drugs and alcohol policy
  • Standards of behaviour and expectations when working with others

By completing the training, you demonstrate that you are prepared to meet the safety and conduct requirements necessary to work on the railway.

Course Content

The LU-WSSI covers the following:
  • Safe working practices on London Underground sites
  • Security procedures and vigilance requirements
  • Location-specific risks and emergency actions
  • Drugs and alcohol policy compliance
  • Professional conduct and respectful interaction with colleagues and the public

How is the Course Delivered?

The training is completed in two stages:
  1. E-learning module – You must create an account on our website, self-enrol, and complete the LU-WSSI e-earning before attending the assessment.
  2. Invigilated assessment – Once e-learning is complete, you must book and attend a supervised, computer-based test.
The assessment:
  • Lasts approximately 1 hour
  • Consists of 22 multiple-choice questions
  • Requires a minimum of 18 correct answers (80%) to pass
  • Provides two attempts on the same day if needed
If successful, the competency will be uploaded to your Sentinel profile and your sponsor will be notified. The qualification is valid for 60 months (5 years).
