Accredited Training Courses in Ireland

Irish employers and contractors sit closer to the UK training system than almost anywhere else. Firms working across the Irish Sea routinely need UK-recognised cards and certificates for site work, and NEBOSH and IOSH qualifications are recognised by employers on both sides. If your people hold Safe Pass for work in Ireland but need a CITB card for a UK site, the courses that get them there are listed below.

Ireland sits inside our wider Europe coverage, but has its own page because the practicalities differ. It is also the one country here where UK classroom dates are genuinely within reach — a course in Bridgend, Shrewsbury or Chester is a short flight or ferry, and a number of classroom dates are listed on this page for exactly that reason.

How you can train from Ireland

Four ways to take a course, and what each one means in practice.

E-learning — start straight away

Self-paced, on any device, with no session to attend and no timezone to work around. Most courses are in English; where other languages are offered it is stated in the course description, so check before you buy.

Online (instructor-led) — live with a trainer

Scheduled sessions delivered in English only. Times shown are UK time (GMT in winter, BST in summer). Ireland keeps the same clock as the UK, so a session advertised for 09:00 starts at 09:00 for you — no conversion needed. A multi-day course means attending every session, so check the dates before booking. CITB SMSTS and SSSTS, including refreshers, run in this format and are booked by contractors working to UK standards worldwide, not only for UK sites.

Distance learning — study at home

Course materials with tutor support, worked through at your own pace. Available internationally.

NVQs — portfolio assessed

Construction and health & safety NVQs are available by distance learning and are booked internationally as well as in the UK. The Level 6 diploma is a recognised route towards chartered membership, and the construction NVQs sit alongside CITB site safety training for anyone working to UK standards. Assessment is portfolio-based against UK national occupational standards — where the candidate is based outside the UK, the provider confirms the assessment arrangements before you book.

Booking classroom courses from Ireland

Classroom courses are held at venues in the UK and are not listed on this page. You can still book them from Ireland for anyone in your organisation who lives or works in the UK, or who is travelling in for a project — the billing address does not need to be a UK one. Browse classroom courses to see venues and dates.

Popular subjects include Health & Safety (including NEBOSH and IOSH), Construction & Engineering, First Aid, Fire Safety and Business, Management & Legal training. You can also browse by delivery method: e-learning, live online and distance learning.

Prices are shown in your local currency, and you can pay online by card or request an invoice if your organisation prefers to be billed. Every course is delivered and certificated by the accredited provider named on the course page. Envico is an independent marketplace — check with your own employer or regulator that a qualification meets the requirement where you are.
