IOSH Managing Safely

IOSH Managing Safely as e-learning — the qualification for anyone with day-to-day responsibility for people or activities. Covers risk assessment, hazard identification, incident investigation and measuring performance.

IOSH Managing Safely Refresher

The refresher, also self-paced. IOSH recommends refreshing Managing Safely every three years. It is not a statutory expiry in the way a CITB card lapses, but the certificate loses credibility with clients and auditors as it ages, and the content does change.

IOSH Working Safely

IOSH Working Safely as e-learning — a shorter course for the whole workforce rather than managers, covering personal responsibility and common workplace hazards. Browse all IOSH courses.

Does e-learning suit IOSH?

For Managing Safely and Working Safely, generally yes. Both are knowledge-based rather than practical, the content is well suited to self-paced study, and the assessment works remotely. The trade-off is discipline — without a fixed timetable, completion depends on the learner. For a whole-workforce rollout of Working Safely, e-learning is usually the only practical option anyway.
