Working at Height and Confined Space Training in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire

CSS Worksafe runs a tightly focused practical range from Bromsgrove — working at height, working at height with ladders, and confined space entry using escape sets. Three courses covering the two activities that account for a disproportionate share of serious workplace injury, taught hands-on rather than as classroom theory.

Working at height
A general Working at Heights course covering the hierarchy of control, equipment selection, and the planning that the Work at Height Regulations require. Falls from height remain the single largest cause of workplace fatalities in Great Britain. Browse all working at height courses.
Working at height with ladders
A version specifically covering ladders and the safe use of portable access equipment. A substantial share of height-related injuries involve ladders on short-duration work rather than scaffolds — the tasks people judge too brief to warrant proper equipment.
Confined space with escape sets
Confined Space with Escape Sets, covering entry into spaces where self-rescue breathing apparatus is required. Escape sets are for getting out, not for working in — a distinction that matters, since a set rated for ten minutes of escape will not support a working entry. See all confined spaces courses.
Do I need a full confined space qualification?
It depends on the space, which should be classified by a competent assessment before anyone enters. Entry with escape sets covers medium-risk spaces where self-rescue is possible. Spaces requiring working breathing apparatus are high risk and need a different qualification. Booking on the wrong assumption means the training does not cover the work being done.
