1-Day Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) Course Delivered On-site

The 1-day Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) course is delivered by the British Red Cross, it is ideal for those who need to be certified to be a first aider in lower-risk working environments.

Group Training (On-site)

This Emergency First Aid at Work course is delivered on-site at your premises for up to 12 people in the UK.

What is an Emergency First Aid at Work Course?

Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) is a 1-day training course that is designed to provide first aiders with the knowledge and skills they need to respond effectively to emergency situations in the workplace.

Our Emergency First Aid at Work course:

  • meets the Health and Safety Executives requirements for first aid in the workplace
  • is suitable for first aiders who require their initial EFAW certificate as well as those refreshing their qualification
  • is widely recognised as a level 3 first aid qualification.

The training covers a range of essential first aid skills that are suitable for low hazard workplaces such as offices, shops and call centres. The combination of skills will help first aiders to respond quickly and confidently to injuries and illnesses, as well as recognise when professional medical help is necessary.

If your needs assessment identifies a requirement for additional first aid training (e.g. due to having employees with a medical condition), we recommend the 3-day First Aid at Work course which teaches the skills to recognise and treat a wider range of injuries and medical conditions.

Your Free Mental Health for First Aiders Course

All Emergency First Aid at Work learners have access to a free online 30-minute Mental Health for First Aiders course, once they have completed their First Aid at Work course.

As a first aider, you may also be required to support someone with mental ill health. It is therefore important to be able to take appropriate action to help promptly, safely, and effectively. HSE guidance encourages organisations to include mental health in their first aid needs assessment and plan the necessary training accordingly.

This short course is a continuation of your First Aid at Work learning and an introduction to Mental health at work training. It is not a mandatory part of your first aid at work course and does not impact your first aid certification.
