What is the ITIL® 4 Transition to Managing Professional Course?
The ITIL® 4 Transition to Managing Professional course is designed for candidates who have already invested in ITIL v3, the ITIL 4 Managing Professional Transition module provides a straight-forward transition path across to ITIL 4.
The Transition module enables candidates to gain the up-to-date skills and knowledge needed to navigate the digital service economy, whilst recognising their previous achievements. It consists of a mandatory 5-day training and exam at the end of the course.
The Managing Professional (MP) stream provides practical and technical knowledge about how to run successful IT-enabled services, teams, and workflows.
Who is the ITIL® 4 Transition to Managing Professional Course Suitable For?
This online ITIL® 4 Transition to Managing Professional course is suitable for All ITIL Experts and those who hold 17 v3 credits.
The target group of the ITIL Managing Professional Transition is drawn from ITIL Experts and practitioners with significant experience in IT service management (at least 17 credits in ITIL v3). This may include but is not limited to, IT professionals, business managers, and business process owners.
What's Included in the ITIL® 4 Transition to Managing Professional Course?
The Transition module covers the key concepts introduced in ITIL 4 Foundation, as well as important elements of the below modules from ITIL 4 Managing Professional:
- ITIL 4 Specialist Create, Deliver and Support
- ITIL 4 Specialist Drive Stakeholder Value
- ITIL 4 Specialist High-velocity IT
- ITIL 4 Strategist Direct, Plan, and Improve
To obtain the designation ITIL 4 Managing Professional or ITIL 4 Strategic Leader, the candidate must complete all modules in each stream, with ITIL Strategist being a universal module for both streams.
- ITIL 4 Foundation concepts – including the Service Value System and value chain
- Create, Deliver and Support
- Drive Stakeholder Value
- High Velocity IT
- Direct, Plan and Improve
- Exam Preparation
The exam is included in the course fees.
- 40 multiple choice questions. 90-minute duration with a 70% pass mark.
- Exam can be taken online with a web proctor (with PEOPLECERT).
- Students must hold 17 v3 credits as a minimum and must have completed the MPT course before presenting for the exam.
Students wishing to study the Transition to MP must be ITIL Expert (however achieved) or hold a minimum of 17 v3 credits.
For short courses a completion certificate is available at the end of the course. You can screenshot this or print it out to confirm completion of the training.
For accredited courses a certificate will be sent directly to you from the appropriate awarding body.
All you need to complete our e-learning courses is a computer, tablet or smartphone and an internet connection.

The learning application is based on HTML5 technologies and therefore the latest version of Web Browser is a pre-requisite ( Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer 11). These products can be downloaded free of charge.
The system should include the latest updates & service packs and have at least 1GB free hard disk space.
Whilst the learning application might work on smaller screens and devices that support HTML5 technologies, the learning application is best viewed on a desktop, laptop or a tablet.
