The UKATA Asbestos Awareness course, delivered in Newquay by SSG Training & Consultancy, gives workers the legally required awareness training under Regulation 10 of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012. This half-day course teaches delegates to recognise asbestos-containing materials, understand the risks of exposure, and know what to do if asbestos is discovered or disturbed.
Who is this course for?
Anyone whose work could foreseeably disturb the fabric of a building built before 2000, including construction workers, electricians, plumbers, joiners, painters, maintenance staff and surveyors.

Is this course UKATA certified?
Yes. The course is delivered to the UKATA Asbestos Awareness syllabus and delegates receive a UKATA certificate on completion.
How long is the certificate valid for?
Certificates are valid for three years from the date of training, after which a refresher course is recommended.
Does this course allow me to work with asbestos?
No. Asbestos Awareness training is designed to help you avoid asbestos. Working with asbestos-containing materials requires Non-Licensed Operative or licensed training.
What do I need to bring?
Just photo ID. All course materials are provided, and full joining instructions are sent after booking.
For short courses a completion certificate is available at the end of the course. You can screenshot this or print it out to confirm completion of the training.
For accredited courses a certificate will be sent directly to you from the appropriate awarding body.
To join online courses, delegates have to log in via a link provided through a computer or laptop with a camera, screen, microphone and access to the internet.
