You can access our e-learning platform at any time and anywhere with an internet connection, so you can organise your studying to suit your schedule. When you log on, you can resume from where you left off, and our built-in progress tracker makes it easy to see how close you are to your goal.
Course Modules
The IOSH Managing Safely online course is split into seven separate modules, each with its own set of learning outcomes and resources. Each module also includes case studies, videos, and interactive exercises to test your understanding.
Course Duration
The IOSH Managing Safely online course is based on the 3-day classroom training. The time it will take to complete this course is dependent on the amount of time that you can attribute to your study. It typically takes around 22 hours of study to complete, and as such is valid for 22 hours of Continued Professional Development (CPD).
Each e-learning student licence duration is 6 months from date of activation, which gives you plenty of time to complete the course.
Assessment
The assessment for this course is split into two parts, a multiple-choice knowledge assessment and a practical workplace risk assessment. The multiple-choice assessment is completed fully online, and your practical workplace risk assessment will be carried out in your workplace and then uploaded to our e-learning platform.
Certification
A certificate is provided to confirm your successful completion of the IOSH Managing Safely online course.

Is IOSH Managing Safely a level 3 qualification?
No, the IOSH Managing Safely is a level 2 qualification, suitable for team leaders, managers and supervisors.
Does IOSH Managing Safely expire?
No, the certificate does not have an expiry date, however IOSH do recommend that you take an IOSH Managing Safely Refresher course every three years to keep your knowledge up to date.

Online Assessments
Where permitted by awarding and certificating bodies, we have included assessments within the learning platform. This means that selected qualifications from our range of IOSH e-learning, iAS, NEBOSH e-learning, and Approved Asbestos Awareness e-learning courses are able to be completed fully online.

Our technical support team are based in the UK and can be contacted via telephone and email during UK office hours for any issues or questions about our in-house developed software.
Tutor Support
Our NEBOSH and IOSH courses have expert tutor support available, should you have any issues developing your understanding of part of the course you are able to contact one of our tutors for assistance. Our tutors have been providing NEBOSH and IOSH training courses for over 28 years and are well equipped to help you if you get stuck at any point during your course.
Progress Tracking
All of our health and safety e-learning courses come with inbuilt progress tracking. For short courses like awareness courses, this may be in the form of a percentage bar that shows how far through the course you are, and for longer courses like NEBOSH certificates each unit will have its own progress bar. This allows you to see how much of the learning material you have covered, whether it’s for a 15 minute course, or a 110 hour course.

Step 2
Once you have paid for your course(s), you will receive an email from our team advising how to begin your training.

You will be provided with a username and password which will enable you to access the e-learning portal. Login to start your course, once you have completed and passed the course, you will be able to download and print your certificate straight away.
