The NEBOSH General Certificate is the qualification most people mean when they talk about getting into health and safety. Eleven days of classroom teaching including a revision day, covering the legal framework, hazard identification and risk assessment across a broad range of workplaces.

It is the right choice if health and safety is becoming your actual job. If you manage a team and need practical competence rather than a career qualification, IOSH Managing Safely is three days and usually sufficient.

The certificate meets the academic requirements for Technical Membership of IOSH and Associate Membership of IIRSM.

Delivery Method

Delivered at the accredited NEBOSH Learning Partner centre at Unit 8, 12 O'Clock Court, 21 Attercliffe Road, Sheffield, S4 7WW. This course can also be run in-house at your own premises or another suitable venue.

Course Duration

11 days including a revision day, plus the online digital assessment and practical assessment

Course Criteria

• There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification.
• NEBOSH recommends a standard of English equivalent to IELTS 6.0 or above, as the syllabus requires you to articulate concepts as well as recall them.

Certification

Successful delegates receive the NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety. Assessment is by a scenario-based online digital assessment and a practical risk assessment carried out in your own workplace. Both initial assessment fees are included in the course fee; re-sits are charged separately by NEBOSH.
