Confined Space, Streetworks and Utilities Training in the South East and East

C&C Training works from four centres — Bury St Edmunds, Gravesend, Leighton Buzzard and Barking — with a substantial live online range alongside. The catalogue leans towards utilities and underground work rather than general construction: a complete City & Guilds confined space ladder taught by unit number, CABWI streetworks at operative and supervisor level, the full EUSR passport set, and water jetting for drain and sewer cleaning. The CITB and NEBOSH qualifications are mostly delivered online, so the classroom centres concentrate on the practical work that has to be done in person.

City & Guilds confined spaces — the full ladder
All four confined space units are taught, by their City & Guilds unit numbers, which makes matching a client’s specification straightforward. Low risk 6160-01 at Bury St Edmunds and Gravesend; medium risk 6160-09 at those two plus Leighton Buzzard; high risk 6160-03 at Bury St Edmunds and Gravesend; and control of entry 6160-04, the top man role, at both. Risk level is determined by the space and the entry method, not by the operative — check which classification the client specifies before booking, because a low risk ticket will not cover a medium risk entry.
CABWI streetworks (NRSWA)
NRSWA operative units run at Barking, Bury St Edmunds and Gravesend, supervisor units at the same three, and reassessment across all four centres including Leighton Buzzard. Reassessment is the one people leave too late — the five-year card has to be renewed before it expires, and there is no retrospective fix once it has lapsed.
EUSR utility passports and water jetting
The EUSR range covers National Water Hygiene — the blue card most water clients require before site access — at Bury St Edmunds and online, SHEA Gas at Bury St Edmunds and Gravesend, SHEA Water at both plus online, and SHEA Network and Telecommunications online. Separately, Water Jetting Association safety awareness with drain and sewer cleaning runs at Barking and Bury St Edmunds, which is a genuinely uncommon course to find scheduled rather than arranged privately.
CITB Site Safety Plus
Health and Safety Awareness runs in the classroom at all four centres and SEATS at three. The card courses are delivered live online: SMSTS and its refresher, SSSTS and its refresher, temporary works coordinator and supervisor, and the Directors’ Role for Health and Safety. CITB approves remote delivery for Site Safety Plus, so the card and five-year validity are identical to the classroom version. See all CITB courses.
Asbestos — awareness through non-licensed work
Three UKATA levels at Bury St Edmunds and Leighton Buzzard: Asbestos Awareness, Non-Licensed Operative, and the Non-Licensed Operative refresher. The distinction matters legally — awareness covers people who might disturb asbestos accidentally, while non-licensed operative training is required for those actually carrying out permitted work on lower-risk materials, and it needs annual refreshing. Working at height and access
At Bury St Edmunds: PASMA Towers for Users and a combined low-level access and towers course, the Ladder Association combined user and inspection course, and IPAF Dual 3a and 3b for mobile scissor and boom operators. The combined PASMA course is worth noting — low-level access units are a common blind spot, since podium steps and similar equipment are often treated as if no training applies. First aid, fire and mental health
Emergency First Aid at Work, the three-day First Aid at Work, and FAW requalification all run at Bury St Edmunds and Leighton Buzzard, with Mental Health First Aider delivered live online. Fire Marshal including practical use of fire extinguishers runs at both classroom centres — the practical element matters, since discharging an extinguisher once under supervision is very different from having read about it. NEBOSH, IOSH and Building Safety Act
NEBOSH runs online: the General Certificate, Health and Safety Management for Construction, and the HSE Certificate in Health and Safety Leadership Excellence. IOSH Managing Safely is available in the classroom at Bury St Edmunds and Leighton Buzzard as well as online, with Working Safely and Leading Safely online. Building Safety Act Awareness also runs live online — relevant timing, with the second staircase requirement applying from 30 September 2026 and the Building Safety Levy from 1 October 2026.
