CAT and Genny Course in Leicester

This course trains operatives in the correct operation of the Cable Avoiding Tool (CAT) and Signal Generator (Genny). The equipment is used to locate underground cables and services, and should not be used by operators without proper training.

Who is the Course For?

The cable avoiding tool and signal generator are commonly used to locate underground cables and pipes on site, but they are often used by untrained staff. This can result in errors being made and the possibility of accidents occurring. This course enables delegates to understand fully the correct operation and functions of the equipment.

Classroom delivery at the training centre in Leicester, Leicestershire. The course is accredited by the CITB and is listed among the provider's CITB grant claimable courses.

• Theory of cable location
• Controls and display indications
• Calibrating and pre-use tests
• Operation of power and radio modes

Completion of the Course

Delegates take a short written test and receive a course handout summarising the topics covered. Successful delegates receive a training certificate and photo ID card.
