Instructor-Led CITB SSSTS Refresher Course Online

The CITB SSSTS Refresher is a one-day course for site supervisors who already hold a valid SSSTS certificate and need to renew it. It updates delegates on changes to legislation and industry practice since their original course.

Eligibility

You must hold a current SSSTS certificate that has not yet expired. Once an SSSTS certificate has lapsed you are no longer eligible for the refresher and must sit the full two-day course again, so book before your expiry date rather than after it.

Delivery Method

This course is delivered live online over Microsoft Teams by a qualified tutor. It is not self-paced e-learning — delegates attend a scheduled session and participate in real time. You will need a laptop or PC with a working webcam and microphone, and a stable internet connection.

• Changes to health and safety legislation and CITB guidance
• Refresher on the supervisor's legal responsibilities
• Risk assessments and method statements in practice
• Toolbox talks and site briefings
• Learning from recent industry incidents

Assessment and Certification

Assessment is by written examination and a core knowledge test. Successful delegates receive a renewed CITB Site Safety Plus SSSTS certificate valid for a further five years. The certificate is identical to the one issued for classroom delivery.

For short courses a completion certificate is available at the end of the course. You can screenshot this or print it out to confirm completion of the training.

For accredited courses a certificate will be sent directly to you from the appropriate awarding body.

All you need to complete our e-learning courses is a computer, tablet or smartphone, an internet connection and Zoom.

To attend a remote online course delegates must have access to a computer, laptop, tablet or phone that uses a microphone and webcam.

E-learning is flexible, efficient, and cost-effective, meaning you can progress through the modules at your own pace, at your own time to fit the training in around your work and personal life.

Short online courses also help employers to demonstrate that they have fulfilled their legal duties to ensure their personnel have been adequately trained.

Once the courses have been completed, a confirmation of results can be saved or printed as evidence. This can then be kept on record as evidence of suitable training.
