First Aid at Work Requalification (FAWR) in Exeter, Devon

This course is designed for qualified first aiders who need to requalify within three years to maintain the validity of their certification. It keeps participants compliant while refreshing and updating their knowledge.

Over two days, learners revisit essential first aid skills, cover the latest techniques and build confidence in applying current best practice when responding to emergencies.

Delivery Method

Delivered at the Champion Training Solutions training centre, Thorverton Road, Marsh Barton, Exeter, EX2 8GN. This course can also be run in-house at your own premises.

Course Criteria

• Intended for existing first aiders whose First Aid at Work certificate has not yet expired, or has expired within the permitted window.

Assessment

Practical assessments and a theory assessment.

Course Content

• The roles and responsibilities of a workplace first aider
• Assessing incidents, and primary and secondary surveys
• CPR including use of an AED for adults
• Recovery position and unresponsive casualty care
• Management of choking, bleeding and shock
• Treatment of burns, fractures and dislocation
• Medical emergencies including stroke, epilepsy, diabetes and asthma
• Minor and major injury management
• Recording and reporting incidents, aligned with RIDDOR
• Infection control, workplace health risks and legal duties

Certification

Successful learners receive the Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (Requalification).
