CITB Site Safety and Tunnelling Training — Online and Bristol

GTE Training Academy delivers the CITB range live online with an instructor, alongside the Tunnelling Safety Training Scheme — a sector qualification that is genuinely hard to find outside major project inductions. First aid runs in classroom at Bristol. The online-first model suits contractors whose people are spread across sites or who cannot release staff for travel.

Tunnelling
The CITB Tunnelling Safety Training Scheme (TSTS), delivered live online. TSTS is the recognised scheme for anyone working on tunnelling projects, and very few providers offer it — most tunnelling workers get it through a project induction rather than being able to book it independently. Site safety — CITB online
Health and Safety Awareness, SSSTS and its refresher, and the SMSTS Refresher — all live online with an instructor rather than self-study. The certificate and card are identical to the classroom version.
First aid
Emergency First Aid at Work in classroom at Bristol. First aid needs hands-on practice with a manikin, so it does not translate to online delivery. See all first aid courses.
Is an online CITB course the same certificate?
Yes. CITB approved remote delivery for the Site Safety Plus scheme and the certificate, card and validity period are identical to attending in person. It is instructor-led at a set time with other delegates, not self-paced e-learning. What you lose is the informal exchange with people from other sites; what you gain is a day not spent travelling.
