What is the First Aid at Work Course?
A three-day course giving delegates the qualification and training they need to treat someone who is injured or taken ill at work. It includes the emergency first aid at work content and goes further, equipping the first aider to deal with a range of specific injuries and illnesses.
Who is the First Aid at Work Course Suitable For?
Employers should assess their first aid needs against the hazards and risks of each workplace. First Aid at Work training is appropriate for individuals working in higher-risk environments where that assessment calls for a fully trained first aider.

Three days of tutor-led training with practical skills assessed throughout.

Course Content
- Resuscitation
- Management of the unconscious casualty
- Control of bleeding
- Management of burns
- Head injuries
- Fractures
- Spinal injuries
- Recognising and treating common medical conditions
- Record keeping
- Contents of first aid boxes
- Safe use of the automated external defibrillator (AED)
Assessment / Examination
Learners demonstrate the skills covered on the course in order to receive the qualification. All sessions must be attended to be eligible for a certificate.
Certification
Successful learners receive the First Aid at Work qualification.
