CITB, IOSH, UKATA Asbestos and NDTG Demolition – Classroom Courses in Maidstone, Kent
Prime Consultancy Group is a Maidstone training, qualification and compliance consultancy working with construction, education and healthcare employers, with particular depth in asbestos and demolition. The open courses listed here all run in the classroom at its Kingsley Place training centre on Mote Road – the full CITB Site Safety Plus ladder from Health and Safety Awareness to SMSTS, both temporary works tickets scheduled well into 2027, IOSH Working Safely and Managing Safely for employers outside construction, a UKATA asbestos range that runs from awareness through non-licensed removal to the licensed supervisor and manager refreshers, the NDTG courses behind the CCDO demolition cards, and workplace first aid. Site management and supervision
The five-day
SMSTS runs either as a straight week or split across two weeks, which suits site managers who cannot be off the job for five days running. The two-day
SSSTS sits beside it for supervisors, foremen and gangers, with the two-day
SMSTS Refresher and one-day
SSSTS Refresher for renewals. Both refreshers must be taken while the original certificate is still in date, and evidence of the original pass is required. The one-day

Temporary works – coordinator and supervisor
The two-day
Temporary Works Coordinator course runs roughly quarterly and the one-day
Temporary Works Supervisor course every two months, with dates published through to summer 2027. Both are built around BS 5975, the CDM Regulations 2015 and the four Cs – communication, coordination, cooperation and competency. They are management courses about organising and overseeing temporary works, not design courses, and the coordinator course is not entry level.
IOSH – Working Safely and Managing Safely
For employers outside construction, the IOSH route does the same job as the CITB ladder. The one-day
IOSH Working Safely course is the introduction for any employee in any industry; the three-day
IOSH Managing Safely course is for supervisors and managers and finishes with a 30-question exam and a practical assessment; and the one-day
Managing Safely Refresher renews it. The trainers hold professional membership of IOSH, and certificates are issued electronically. Compare other

UKATA asbestos – awareness, non-licensed and licensed refreshers
The three-hour
UKATA Asbestos Awareness course runs roughly fortnightly, alternating Friday mornings with early Saturday starts. It is awareness only and does not qualify anyone to work on asbestos. For people who will knowingly disturb it, the one-day
non-licensed B1 course is the initial route and includes the awareness element, so a new starter needs only the one booking; the
B3 refresher then keeps the certificate current each year. For licensed contractors there are annual one-day refreshers for supervisors and contract managers. See the full

NDTG demolition – the CCDO card ladder
The NDTG is the only organisation able to issue CCDO cards, and three one-day courses here cover the operative ladder: Demolition Labourer for the green card, Demolition Refurbishment Operative for those with two years as a labourer, and Advanced Demolition Operative (Topman) for load-bearing demolition by hand and running small teams. The Labourer and Refurbishment Operative courses run on Saturdays. Every level requires a current asbestos awareness certificate taken in the classroom – e-learning certificates are not accepted – so the awareness course above is the usual first booking, alongside the relevant Health, Safety and Environment test pass. First aid
The
Emergency First Aid course suits low-hazard workplaces, meets HSE requirements and is accredited with ProTrainings. The three-day
First Aid at Work course is for higher-risk environments where the employer's needs assessment calls for a fully trained first aider, and includes AED use. Browse all

Getting to the Maidstone centre
Kingsley Place is on Mote Road in central Maidstone, a short walk from the town centre and within easy reach of the M20. Keep the certificate current
SMSTS, SSSTS, Health and Safety Awareness and both temporary works certificates last five years; SMSTS and SSSTS are renewed through the refresher before expiry, the others by retaking the course. IOSH Managing Safely is also a five-year certificate, renewed through the one-day refresher. All UKATA certificates here – awareness, non-licensed and the licensed refreshers – are valid for 12 months. The green CCDO Labourer card lasts five years, while the red trained-operative CCDO cards last three years and are non-renewable: the holder needs the matching demolition NVQ within that time to move to the five-year blue card.
