What is the NDTG CCDO Demolition Labourer Course?
A one-day course from an NDTG-approved training centre, and the first step towards a demolition qualification. Passing it allows delegates to apply for the green CCDO Demolition Labourer card. Demolition Labourers work alongside Demolition Refurbishment Operatives and Topmen, clearing arisings from demolition processes – separating waste, loading bins and moving soft-stripped arisings on demolition sites. The NDTG is the only organisation able to issue CCDO cards.
Who is the Demolition Labourer Course Suitable For?
People new to the demolition industry, those converting from general construction labouring to demolition, and anyone in a general labouring role who wants formal training. Candidates must hold a current Operative or above Health, Safety and Environment touchscreen test pass and a current NDTG or UKATA Asbestos Awareness certificate – e-learning asbestos certificates are not accepted.

A day of tutor-led training and the Demolition Labourer Level 1 test.
Delivery Method
Classroom at the provider's training centre at Kingsley Place, Mote Road, Maidstone, Kent. Saturday courses start at 7.30am and weekday courses at 8.30am.

- Site inductions, site rules and controlling hazards
- Drugs and alcohol
- Fire, first aid and emergencies
- COSHH
- Working near demolition plant and equipment

- Personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Waste, environment and site environmental issues
- Occupational health issues
Assessment / Examination
The Demolition Labourer Level 1 test.
Certification
Successful delegates receive a five-year, renewable Demolition Labourer certificate and can apply for the green CCDO Demolition Labourer card. The card is renewed every five years by retaking the course; those wanting to progress can take the Demolition Refurbishment Operative course before the green card expires.
