NEBOSH HSE Introduction to Incident Investigation

Developed jointly by NEBOSH and the Health and Safety Executive, this one-day certificate teaches a structured method for investigating workplace incidents. Most organisations investigate; far fewer reach the underlying cause, and the same incident then repeats.

The course covers why incidents should be investigated, how to gather and preserve evidence, and how to move past the immediate cause to the organisational failings behind it. It uses the HSE's own investigation model, so findings align with what an inspector would expect to see.

Who Is This Course For?

Managers, supervisors, health and safety representatives and anyone who may be asked to investigate an accident, incident or near miss. No prior qualification is required, and it works well as a follow-on from IOSH Managing Safely.

Delegates complete a practical assessment based on an incident scenario. Successful delegates receive the NEBOSH HSE Introduction to Incident Investigation certificate. Assessment fees are included in the course price.
