A one-day UKATA refresher that lets licensed asbestos removal managers continue to work safely and effectively in a leadership role. It covers changes in regulations, best practice and new techniques, and reaffirms the health hazards and general site procedures. UKATA advises that the appropriate asbestos removal refresher is taken every year. The course is delivered by a UKATA-approved training centre and follows the official UKATA syllabus.

Who is the Contract Manager Refresher Suitable For?

Candidates who have passed their UKATA Licensed Asbestos Contract Manager training, or a previous refresher, within the last 12 months. Evidence of the previous training certificate is required.

A day of tutor-led training, the UKATA assessment and a UKATA certificate on success.

Classroom, starting at 8.30am, at the provider's training centre at Kingsley Place, Mote Road, Maidstone, Kent.

Course Content

• Identified training needs
• New information, such as changes in health and safety or asbestos removal legislation and in work practices, including new equipment and wetting techniques
• A reminder of the hazards of asbestos and the risks faced while working with it
• Reinforcement of procedures such as the use of hygiene facilities, the use and maintenance of RPE and PPE, and controlled removal techniques

Assessment / Examination

The UKATA Licensed Asbestos Contract Manager Refresher assessment.

Certification

Successful candidates receive a UKATA certificate valid for 12 months from the date of issue, which can be checked using UKATA's online validation tool. A further refresher should be completed within a year.
