What is PASMA?

PASMA stands for the Prefabricated Access Suppliers’ and Manufacturers’ Association—the UK’s recognised authority for mobile access towers. Established to promote the safe use of prefabricated tower scaffolds, PASMA sets the industry standard for training, best practices, and technical guidance in working at height.

What Are PASMA Towers?

PASMA Towers are mobile access towers—also known as scaffold towers—used to safely work at height in a range of industries including construction, maintenance, and facilities management. These towers are typically made from lightweight aluminium, are easy to assemble, and offer a safer alternative to ladders for tasks that require stability and working at height for extended periods.

There are several types of PASMA-approved mobile access towers, each designed for specific working environments:

• Standard Towers – Ideal for indoor or outdoor use on flat, stable ground. These are the most common type.
• Low-Level Access Towers – Compact towers used for work at lower heights, often in confined spaces.
• Advanced Towers – Including cantilever towers, linked towers, and stairway towers for more complex or high-risk tasks.
• Towers on Stairs – Designed for safe access when working on staircases or uneven surfaces.

Each type requires the correct PASMA training course to ensure safe assembly, use, and dismantling.

Accredited PASMA Training for Safe Tower Assembly, Use, Inspection, and Dismantling

Trained and certified by PASMA (Prefabricated Access Suppliers’ and Manufacturers’ Association), workers learn how to erect, use, inspect, and dismantle these towers safely and in line with current regulations. PASMA training helps reduce the risk of falls and ensures compliance with the Work at Height Regulations 2005.
