Why does tower training matter?
Mobile towers are routinely assembled by people who have never been trained on them, because they look straightforward. Incorrect assembly — missing braces, wrong sequence, no guardrails during build, outriggers not deployed — is a recurring cause of collapse. The PASMA card exists because the equipment is more particular than it appears.
Inspection as well as assembly
The course covers inspection, not just building. Towers need checking before first use and after anything that could affect stability, and a tower left standing between shifts can be altered by someone else overnight. Knowing what to look for before climbing is as much of the training as putting it up.
