Abrasive Wheels Training
This half-day Abrasive Wheels course is delivered in a classroom at Clay Cross, Derbyshire, S45 9JW. It covers the safe selection, mounting and use of abrasive wheels in line with the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998.
Who is this Course Suitable For?
Anyone who mounts, changes or operates abrasive wheels as part of their work, and supervisors responsible for those who do. PUWER requires that anyone mounting an abrasive wheel is trained and competent to do so.
Course Content
- Relevant legislation and the duties it places on employers and operators
- Types of abrasive wheel and their construction
- Wheel marking systems and correct selection for the task
- Storage, handling and inspection for damage
- Mounting and balancing, guarding and speed limits
- Safe operating practice and personal protective equipment
Certification
Successful delegates receive a certificate on completion.
