DCPC Road Traffic Collisions and Vehicle Road Worthiness Course in Stonehouse, Gloucestershire

The Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (Driver CPC) is a qualification for professional bus, coach and lorry drivers. It has been introduced across Europe with the professed aim of improving road safety and helping to maintain high standards of driving. Professional drivers must do 35 hours of periodic training every 5 years to keep your Driver Certificate of Professional Competence ( CPC ) to drive a lorry, bus or coach.

To ensure that candidates are provided with the knowledge needed as professional drivers to continue to perform their duties safely.

Objectives

Candidates will take part in theoretical training and discussions relating to road traffic accidents and fire awareness, gaining a greater understanding of causation, prevention and where necessary, treatment.

Road Traffic Accidents – First at the Scene

Professional drivers can frequently be amongst the first at the scene when accidents have occurred on the road and knowing what to do and how to react could mean those involved are safer

To instruct candidates on actions to be taken at the scene

  • To inform candidates of the risks that may be found in an RTC
  • To describe other issues to be aware of and actions to take
  • To instruct candidates on caring for casualties

Vehicle Roadworthiness
Vehicle maintenance, road safety and legal compliance are signifi-cant issues affecting both vehicle operators and professional driv-ers. This module covers the requirements and actions that can help to ensure all three are at the highest level
