This half day course covers current fire regulations and the duties of a fire warden, and includes practical demonstrations and hands-on experience in the use of fire extinguishers.

Who is the Course For?

The course is for anyone needing to learn about current fire regulations and to receive instruction and experience in operating fire extinguishers. It is suited to employees designated as fire wardens, and to those with responsibility for ensuring their employer complies with current legislation relating to fire precautions.

Course Content

• Current fire safety legislation and the duties it places on employers
• The role and responsibilities of the fire warden
• How fire starts, spreads and behaves
• Fire prevention and common workplace fire hazards
• Means of escape, evacuation procedures and assembly points
• Classes of fire and the matching extinguisher types
• Practical use of fire extinguishers

Completion of the Course

Delegates take a short written test and complete a practical assessment on the use of fire extinguishers. Successful delegates receive a training certificate and photo ID card.
