What It Covers

The Spanish framework for occupational risk prevention — Ley 31/1995 and its implementing regulations — alongside risk assessment methodology, workplace safety, industrial hygiene, ergonomics and applied psychosociology, and the management of prevention within an organisation.

How Spanish PRL Differs

Spain regulates occupational risk prevention through a defined technical hierarchy — basic, intermediate and higher level — with specific qualification requirements attached to each. It is a more prescriptive structure than the UK's, and a UK NEBOSH or IOSH qualification does not map directly onto it.

Anyone intending to practise formally as a prevention technician in Spain should confirm exactly which level their intended role requires before enrolling, since programme titles and legal recognition are not the same thing.

Accreditation
