CITB Temporary Works Coordinator and Supervisor Training — Online
2B Trained delivers the complete CITB temporary works pathway online — Coordinator, Coordinator Refresher and Supervisor. Temporary works competence is required on a great many projects but is often awkward to book locally, since fewer centres run it than the standard site safety courses. Delivering all three remotely removes the geography problem entirely.
Temporary Works Coordinator
The CITB Temporary Works Coordinator Training Course, live online. The coordinator role is set out in BS 5975 and is what most principal contractors now require on projects involving temporary works — maintaining the register, ensuring designs are checked and approved, and controlling the process across the project. Coordinator Refresher
The TWCTC Refresher, also live online. The refresher keeps the qualification current without repeating the full course, and is the sensible route for anyone whose original certificate is approaching its renewal point.
Temporary Works Supervisor
The CITB Temporary Works Supervisor course. The supervisor works under the coordinator, overseeing temporary works on site and confirming that what was designed is what actually gets built — the check that catches substitutions and improvisation before they become failures.
What counts as temporary works?
Anything that supports permanent construction while it is being built, then comes away: formwork, falsework, propping, trench and excavation support, façade retention, temporary bridges and access structures. It is a recurring source of serious structural failure precisely because it is temporary and can feel less consequential than the permanent works — which is exactly why BS 5975 sets out a formal control process.
Coordinator or Supervisor — which do I need?
A project typically appoints one coordinator with supervisors working beneath them, so they are complementary rather than alternatives. If you are responsible for the temporary works process across a project — the register, design checks, approvals — you need Coordinator. If you are overseeing the work on site and checking it against the design, Supervisor is the right course.
