First Intervention Team delivers the ECITB CCNSG Safety Passport and its renewal from Stanford-le-Hope, on the north bank of the Thames estuary. The location matters — Coryton, Canvey, Tilbury and the Thames Gateway industrial corridor sit on the doorstep, and CCNSG is the credential that governs access to that kind of plant.
CCNSG Safety Passport
The ECITB CCNSG Safety Passport — the two-day course that is the standard entry requirement for engineering-construction sites. Refineries, terminals, power generation, chemical works and major maintenance shutdowns will generally not permit access without it, regardless of what other cards you hold.
Passport renewal
The CCNSG Safety Passport Renewal — a one-day course that must be completed before the three-year passport expires. Let it lapse and you sit the full two-day course again, and in the meantime you lose site access entirely.
CCNSG or CSCS?
Different sectors, and neither substitutes for the other. CSCS, underpinned by the CITB HS&E test, covers general construction. CCNSG covers engineering-construction — process, petrochemical, power and heavy industrial. Contractors working along the Thames estuary frequently need both, since construction and process work sit side by side there.
Covering the Thames Gateway
Stanford-le-Hope is practical for Basildon, Grays, Tilbury, Canvey Island, Southend, Brentwood and east London, and reachable from north Kent via the Dartford crossing. The A13 and M25 put most of the estuary industrial corridor within a straightforward journey.
