Full CITB Site Safety Plus and Temporary Works at Three Centres
Health, Life & Safety runs the complete CITB Site Safety Plus range — including both refreshers and both temporary works roles — from three centres at Waterloo in central London, Romsey in Hampshire and Doncaster in South Yorkshire. All seven CITB courses run at every centre, which is unusual: most providers carry the headline courses everywhere and the refreshers at one site only. IOSH sits alongside at Waterloo and Romsey.
CITB site safety — courses and refreshers at all three centres
SMSTS and the SMSTS Refresher, SSSTS and the SSSTS Refresher, plus Health and Safety Awareness — every one available at Waterloo, Romsey and Doncaster. Having both refreshers at all three sites matters, because the refresher route closes the moment your existing card expires and you then sit the full course again. See all CITB courses.
Temporary works — both roles, all three centres
CITB Temporary Works Coordinator and Temporary Works Supervisor at Waterloo, Romsey and Doncaster. Temporary works covers everything holding permanent construction up while it is built — formwork, falsework, propping, excavation support — and BS 5975 expects the coordinator to be formally appointed on sites using any of it. Carrying both roles at three geographically spread centres is genuinely uncommon.
IOSH
IOSH Managing Safely at Waterloo and Romsey, and IOSH Working Safely at Waterloo. Managing Safely is the three-day qualification for anyone supervising people or planning work; Working Safely is the one-day workforce equivalent. Coordinator or Supervisor — which temporary works course?
The Coordinator role carries responsibility for the temporary works design and the permit process — it is the appointment BS 5975 names, and typically sits with a site or project manager. The Supervisor role is about implementation on the ground: checking the works are built as designed and flagging deviations. A site needs the coordinator appointment; supervisors support it. Taking the wrong one leaves the formal appointment unfilled.
Which centre?
Waterloo is central London and reachable from across the south east by rail without driving — practical for anyone who would otherwise lose a day to the M25. Romsey covers Hampshire, Wiltshire and the south coast, within reach of Southampton, Winchester, Salisbury and Bournemouth. Doncaster covers South and West Yorkshire, the East Midlands and north Lincolnshire, sitting on the A1 and M18. The CITB range is identical at all three, so it is purely a travel decision.
