High Aims Training

CITB Online and Practical Safety Training in Ilford, Essex

High Aims Training delivers the CITB range live online and the practical courses in the classroom at Ilford, with IOSH available either at the centre or on your own premises. That mix suits employers who want cards obtained without travel but still need hands-on training for first aid, fire, abrasive wheels and banksman work. There is also a same-day CSCS green card route at Ilford.

CITB site safety — live online
SMSTS and the SMSTS Refresher, SSSTS and the SSSTS Refresher, plus Health and Safety Awareness for the CSCS green card — all live online with an instructor. CITB approved remote delivery, so the certificate and card match the classroom version exactly. See all CITB courses.
CSCS green card — same day results
A CSCS Green Card course at Ilford with same-day results — the course and the test in one visit rather than arranging them separately. That is the practical difference from the online Health and Safety Awareness route: the online course gets you the qualification, but the test and card still have to be booked. If you need someone on site quickly, the same-day route is the one.
IOSH — classroom or on-site
IOSH Managing Safely and IOSH Working Safely at Ilford or delivered at your own premises. On-site delivery works well where a whole team needs the same qualification and travel would cost more than the training itself. Browse all IOSH courses.
First aid
Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work over one day, Level 3 First Aid at Work over three, and the two-day requalification. First aid stays in the classroom because it needs manikin practice, and the requalification route is only open before your existing certificate expires. Browse all first aid courses.
Traffic marshal — classroom or e-learning
Traffic Marshal and Banksman training in the classroom at Ilford, or as self-paced e-learning for anyone who needs the theory quickly. Reversing and vehicle manoeuvring remain among the most common causes of serious site injury, and the banksman is the control. Where the role involves live signalling to plant operators, the classroom version is the one worth taking.
Fire marshal and abrasive wheels
Fire Marshal and Warden training, plus Abrasive Wheels, both in the classroom at Ilford. Abrasive wheels covers mounting, inspection and safe use — PUWER requires anyone mounting a wheel to be trained and appointed, which is the part most often missed on smaller sites. See all fire safety courses.
When does on-site delivery make sense?
Broadly, once you have six or more people needing the same course. Beyond that the cost of releasing everyone for travel usually exceeds the premium for bringing a trainer to you, and the training can be scheduled around your shift pattern rather than the centre's calendar. For one or two delegates, attending a scheduled course is almost always cheaper. Ilford is on the Elizabeth line, which makes the centre itself reachable from much of east London and south Essex without driving.
