Why train directors separately?
Safety for Executives and Directors is a different course from Managing Safely, not a shorter version of it. It addresses governance, legal accountability and the board's role in setting culture rather than day-to-day risk assessment. Directors carry personal liability under health and safety law, and that responsibility is not discharged by having trained managers underneath them.
Fire Safety after the General Certificate?
The NEBOSH General Certificate is the broad foundation and comes first for most people. The Certificate in Fire Safety is a specialism taken alongside it, and it is the natural step for anyone responsible for fire risk assessment — particularly in premises with sleeping accommodation, complex evacuation or a duty under the Fire Safety Order. The two stack rather than compete.
