Law Courses Online
Law courses here cover two main routes: practical paralegal training in a specific area of law, and preparation for the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE), the assessment for qualifying as a solicitor in England and Wales. Alongside them sit courses in conveyancing, anti-money laundering, financial crime and other compliance work that legal and regulated businesses rely on.
SQE preparation
To qualify as a solicitor through the SQE route you need a degree or equivalent, two years' qualifying work experience, passes in both SQE1 and SQE2, and to meet the Solicitors Regulation Authority's character and suitability requirements. SQE1 is made up of two Functioning Legal Knowledge assessments, FLK1 and FLK2. SQE2 is a single assessment of 16 stations testing practical legal skills through written and oral tasks.
Preparation courses are not compulsory, and the Solicitors Regulation Authority does not regulate, accredit or endorse SQE training providers, so compare what each course covers before you book.

Common questions
What is the SQE?
The Solicitors Qualifying Examination is the assessment for qualifying as a solicitor in England and Wales. It has two parts: SQE1, made up of two Functioning Legal Knowledge assessments (FLK1 and FLK2), and SQE2, a single assessment of 16 stations testing practical legal skills through written and oral tasks.
What do I need to qualify as a solicitor through the SQE?
A degree in any subject or an equivalent level 6 qualification, passes in SQE1 and SQE2, two years' full-time or equivalent qualifying work experience in up to four organisations, and meeting the Solicitors Regulation Authority's character and suitability requirements. Candidates who were already on the older Legal Practice Course (LPC) route when the SQE was introduced can still qualify that way until 31 December 2032, if they meet the transitional requirements.
Do I have to take an SQE preparation course?
No. Preparation courses are not compulsory. The Solicitors Regulation Authority does not regulate, accredit or endorse SQE training providers, so compare the content of each course before you book.
Can paralegal work count as qualifying work experience?
Yes. The Solicitors Regulation Authority lists working as a paralegal as an example of time that could count towards the two years' qualifying work experience, provided it meets its requirements.
Are these law courses accredited?
No. The courses currently listed here are independent training rather than regulated or accredited qualifications, and lead to a certificate of completion from the provider. Each course page explains what the course covers.
