CITB, Streetworks, First Aid and Technical Safety Training at Ten UK Centres
Morson Nexus runs a broad accredited catalogue from ten centres across the North West, Yorkshire, the Midlands and East London, with live online delivery and e-learning alongside. The range covers the full CITB Site Safety Plus suite and temporary works tickets, CABWI streetworks units and EUSR utility passports, first aid at every level, NEBOSH and IOSH qualifications, and practical courses in scaffold inspection, face fit testing and confined space entry. For contractors with people spread across those regions, the centre network usually puts a course within reasonable travel rather than requiring a trip to one fixed venue.
CITB Site Safety Plus — the full suite
The five-day
SMSTS runs at Blackburn, Derby, Doncaster, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, Tamworth and Wigan, plus live online — and, unusually, as a day-release format at seven of those centres for managers who cannot give up a full week. The two-day

Temporary works — coordinator and supervisor
The
Temporary Works Coordinator (TWCTC) and
Temporary Works Supervisor (TWSTC) courses both run at Doncaster, Leeds and Wigan and live online, with the TWCTC refresher available online. Temporary works appointments are a common gap on sites where falsework, propping or excavation support is in use, and BS 5975 expects the roles to be filled by someone trained for them.
Streetworks — CABWI NRSWA units
Full
NRSWA provision under CABWI at Blackburn and Leigh: Operative and Supervisor units, standalone Signing, Lighting and Guarding for both routes, and reassessments for operatives and supervisors whose five-year cards are coming up. Reassessment has to be completed before the card expires, so book on the anniversary rather than after it.
Utilities — EUSR passports and cable avoidance
Three
EUSR passports run live online — National Water Hygiene, SHEA Gas and SHEA Water — covering the registration most water and gas clients ask for before site access. CAT and Genny cable avoidance training is delivered at eight centres including Canning Town and Leigh, for anyone breaking ground near buried services.
First aid at every level
Emergency First Aid at Work (one day) and First Aid at Work (three days) both run at seven centres, with EFAW also available as e-learning. The FAW requalification is offered at Manchester and Wigan, and Mental Health First Aid at Wigan. NEBOSH and IOSH qualifications
The
NEBOSH General Certificate and the Health and Safety Management for Construction certificate both run at Manchester and live online, with the Certificate in Fire Safety online. On the
IOSH side, Managing Safely is delivered at Derby, Leeds, Manchester and Wigan plus online, with Working Safely and Leading Safely online. NEBOSH is the assessed qualification route; IOSH is the shorter certificated training that sits under it.
Working at height and access equipment
A
PASMA Towers for Users card covers assembly, alteration, inspection and dismantling of mobile access towers, and runs at Blackburn, Derby and Doncaster.
Basic Scaffold Inspection is available at seven centres for the weekly inspection duty under the Work at Height Regulations, and Working at Height Awareness is offered as e-learning.
Asbestos, confined space and face fit

Asbestos Awareness runs as e-learning and in the classroom at Canning Town. The City & Guilds Medium Risk
Confined Space and Entry Controller course is delivered at Blackburn.
Face Fit Train the Tester runs at seven centres, which is the practical route for employers who would rather test RPE in house than buy testing in each time.
Short courses and e-learning
Abrasive Wheels, Manual Handling, Fire Safety and Working at Height Awareness are available as e-learning for topics that suit desk-based refresher training. Risk Assessment and Method Statement writing is offered both as e-learning and as an instructor-led online session. Fire Warden, Spill Response and classroom Abrasive Wheels run at Canning Town.
Classroom, live online or e-learning?
CITB approves remote delivery for Site Safety Plus, so the certificate, card and five-year validity are identical whichever way the course is taken. Live online is instructor-led at a fixed time rather than self-paced, and CITB requires delegates to be visible and participating throughout. E-learning is a different thing again — self-paced and certificated, but only offered here on the awareness-level topics, not the card courses. With ten physical centres in the network, the classroom choice is usually about travel time rather than necessity.
Keep the certificate current
SMSTS and SSSTS both last five years and both refreshers must be completed before the original expires. There is no grace period — miss the window and it is the full course again, five days rather than two for SMSTS. The same applies to NRSWA reassessment and to first aid requalification, which has to be booked before the three-year certificate runs out. Diary the expiry date when the certificate arrives.
