Insulation and Retrofit Competence

NVQ qualifications in Insulation and Building Treatments recognise the competence of installers working on energy efficiency and retrofit projects, and lead to a CSCS card at the matching level. Level 2 covers cavity wall insulation and cold roof insulation. Level 3 extends into internal wall insulation and room-in-roof work, leading to the gold CSCS Advanced Craft card. Installers on funded retrofit schemes are increasingly asked to hold one of these qualifications. All routes are assessed in the workplace from evidence produced by your normal duties, with no exam.
