Construction Entry Qualification and Spectator Safety NVQ in Basildon, Essex
Pinnacle Horizon Training runs two qualifications from Basildon that serve quite different people — the Level 1 Health and Safety in a Construction Environment course that underpins a green CSCS labourer card, and a Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Spectator Safety for stewarding at stadiums and events. Route to a green CSCS card
Level 1 Health and Safety in a Construction Environment — the qualification required alongside a pass in the CITB HS&E touch screen test to apply for a green labourer card. Spectator Safety NVQ
Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Spectator Safety (RQF) — the qualification for stewards and safety staff at stadiums, arenas and large events. It covers crowd management, emergency procedures, control of entry and dealing with the public. Licensed grounds are expected to have qualified stewards, and the NVQ is the recognised route.
Who needs the Spectator Safety qualification?
Stewards and supervisors working at football grounds, arenas, festivals and other large events. Safety certificates for sports grounds set expectations around trained stewarding, and event organisers and their insurers increasingly require it. It is a portfolio-assessed NVQ rather than a taught course with an exam, so it evidences what you do in the role.
