Safe Use of Grinders and Cut-Off Saws
Course Overview
Abrasive wheels spin at very high speeds, and a wrongly specified, badly mounted or damaged wheel can burst with serious consequences. This half-day course builds a solid understanding of safe practice with abrasive wheels, from choosing the correct wheel and fitting it properly to inspecting it for damage, using guards and wearing the right protective equipment. It helps employers meet their duties under the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER).
Who should attend?
Anyone who uses, or is about to use, abrasive wheels at work, including bench grinders, angle grinders and cut-off saws. It suits both new operators and experienced users who need their training brought up to date. No prior training is needed.
