Monitor street works safely and to specification

This five-day CABWI New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA) Supervisors course is for the people responsible for overseeing excavation and reinstatement in the public highway. It covers how to monitor site safety, traffic management and reinstatement quality, and leads to the SWQR card that confirms you are qualified to supervise street works.

The course is delivered in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire by Safeteam Training Group, a CITB Approved Training Organisation with its head office in Raunds, Northamptonshire.

Who Is the NRSWA Supervisors Course For?

The supervisor foundation course is for supervisors, gangers and site managers who have never attended NRSWA training, or have not attended within the last five years. If you already hold an SWQR card that is due to expire, book the NRSWA reassessment instead. Operatives who carry out the work themselves should take the NRSWA for Operatives course.

Under the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991, street works in the public highway must be supervised by a person holding the supervisor qualification, with at least one qualified operative on site at all times while the work is in progress. NRSWA training covers the work involved – traffic management, utility installation, excavation and utility repair – and is assessed by CABWI (the Certified Awarding Body for the Water Industry), with qualifications recorded on the Street Works Qualifications Register (SWQR).
