Our CITB Health and Safety Awareness (HSA) course is a one-day classroom course for anyone new to construction or preparing to work on site. It gives you a clear introduction to site hazards, your responsibilities, safe working practices and the basic legal requirements for working safely in construction. It is the training route most commonly used to support a CSCS Green Labourer Card application.
Who Should Attend
This course is designed for site operatives, new starters, labourers and anyone moving into construction from another sector. There are no formal entry requirements.

Certification
Successful delegates receive a CITB Health and Safety Awareness certificate, valid for five years. The certificate is recognised for the CSCS Green Labourer Card, though the card application also requires the CITB Health, Safety and Environment operatives test. We run CSCS testing at our centre — contact us for available test dates and times.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need any experience before attending?
No. This course is written for people with no prior construction health and safety training.
Will this get me a CSCS card?
The HSA certificate is one of the two requirements. You also need to pass the CITB Health, Safety and Environment operatives test, which we can arrange at our centre.
How long is the certificate valid?
Five years from the date of successful completion.
Do you offer group bookings?
Yes. Group bookings are available on request. Contact us to arrange.
For short courses a completion certificate is available at the end of the course. You can screenshot this or print it out to confirm completion of the training.
For accredited courses a certificate will be sent directly to you from the appropriate awarding body.
