5-Day CITB SMSTS Course Delivered Online

Course Overview

This five-day CITB Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) course covers the health, safety and environmental legislation affecting safe working in the building, construction and civil engineering industries. SMSTS is endorsed by Build UK as the standard health and safety training for construction site managers.

Pre-requisites

There are no formal entry requirements, however delegates should hold, or be about to hold, the role of a site manager. Previous health and safety knowledge is recommended. Those without previous health and safety management experience may prefer the two-day SSSTS course. Delegates must be competent in the written and spoken English needed to operate at site management level.

Course Duration

Five days.

Delegates must complete the full course (37.5 hours) to be eligible for certification, and must attend all sessions in line with the course programme. If this is not possible, the delegate must enrol on a new course and retake the full five days.

Delivery Method

Delivered online by a real instructor using video conferencing software. You will need a computer with a webcam, microphone and a reliable internet connection.

Assessment

To successfully complete the course and achieve the qualification, delegates must:

• Complete all four core exercises
• Pass the trainer review
• Pass the end of course exam (25 questions)

Certification

Successful delegates are issued with a CITB SMSTS certificate, valid for five years. To renew, take the SMSTS Refresher course before your SMSTS certificate expires.

For short courses a completion certificate is available at the end of the course. You can screenshot this or print it out to confirm completion of the training.

For accredited courses a certificate will be sent directly to you from the appropriate awarding body.

To join online courses, delegates have to log in via a link provided through a computer or laptop with a camera, screen, microphone and access to the internet.

Step 2

Once you have paid for your course(s), you will receive an email from our team advising how to begin your training.

Step 3

You will be provided with a username and password which will enable you to access the e-learning portal. Login to start your course, once you have completed and passed the course, you will be able to download and print your certificate straight away.
