CITB SSSTS Course in Hainault, Essex (Classroom)

Our CITB Site Supervision Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) course is a two-day classroom course for supervisors, team leaders, gangers and those preparing to step into a supervisory role on site. It gives you a practical understanding of what supervising safely actually involves day to day.

Who Should Attend

This course is designed for site supervisors, team leaders, gangers, foremen and experienced operatives moving into supervision. There are no formal entry requirements.

• Monitoring site activities and carrying out inspections
• Delivering toolbox talks and site briefings

Certification

Successful delegates receive a CITB SSSTS certificate, valid for five years. Before it expires you can renew with the one-day SSSTS Refresher rather than repeating the full course.

Delivery Method

Classroom delivery at our training centre: The Acorn Centre, 29 Roebuck Road, Hainault, Essex, IG6 3TU. Course runs 9:00am to 5:00pm across two consecutive days. We also offer in-house delivery at your own premises for group bookings.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is SSSTS a prerequisite for SMSTS?
No. You can go straight to SMSTS if your role calls for it, though many delegates supervise on site first.

Do I need supervisory experience to attend?
No. The course is suitable for people preparing to move into supervision as well as those already doing the job.

How long is the certificate valid?
Five years from the date of successful completion.

Can you deliver this at our own site?
Yes. We offer in-house delivery for organisations training several people at once. Contact us to arrange.

For short courses a completion certificate is available at the end of the course. You can screenshot this or print it out to confirm completion of the training.

For accredited courses a certificate will be sent directly to you from the appropriate awarding body.

We are Mast Safety, an accredited CITB Site Safety Plus training provider delivering health and safety training from our training centre in Hainault, Essex. Our courses are built around real construction experience, so the learning is practical, relevant and easy to apply on site.

We deliver the full CITB Site Safety Plus suite, including SMSTS, SSSTS, their refreshers, and Health & Safety Awareness, alongside IOSH Managing Safely, first aid and mental health training. Our trainers come from strong construction and site management backgrounds, and we keep our classrooms engaging rather than relying on slides.

We also offer in-house delivery at your own premises for organisations training several people at once, and we support Health & Safety Awareness delegates with their CSCS card applications.
