Renew your First Aid at Work certificate in two days

This two-day First Aid at Work Requalification (FAWR) course is for qualified first aiders whose three-year First Aid at Work certificate is coming up for renewal. It refreshes and reassesses the full range of FAW skills so you can continue to act as a workplace first aider.

The course is delivered in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire by Safeteam Training Group, a CITB Approved Training Organisation with its head office in Raunds, Northamptonshire, and is certificated through NUCO or Highfield.

Who Is the Requalification Course For?

You need a current First Aid at Work certificate to attend. Book the requalification before your certificate expires; if it has already lapsed, you will normally need to take the full three-day First Aid at Work course again.

What the Course Covers

• The role and responsibilities of a first aider
• Assessing an incident and the casualty
• CPR and the safe use of an AED (defibrillator)
• Managing an unresponsive casualty, including the recovery position
• Choking, wounds and bleeding, and shock
• Minor injuries such as small cuts, grazes and burns
• Head, spinal and chest injuries
• Fractures, dislocations and sprains
• Burns, scalds and eye injuries
• Poisoning and anaphylaxis
• Recognising heart attack, stroke, epilepsy, asthma and diabetic emergencies

Certification

Successful delegates receive a new First Aid at Work certificate valid for a further three years.

How long is the First Aid at Work Requalification course?

Two days, in the classroom.

Can I attend if my FAW certificate has expired?

Book before it expires. Once it has lapsed you will normally need to retake the full three-day course.

Does the requalification cover the same topics as FAW?

Yes. It covers the full FAW syllabus at a faster pace, with practical reassessment of your skills.

How long is the new certificate valid?

Three years from the date you pass.

On successful completion, your certificate is issued by the awarding body, not by the training provider. NRSWA street works: a certificate is issued for each unit passed, and Safeteam applies for your Street Works Qualifications Register (SWQR) card on your behalf. Street works qualifications must be renewed every five years by taking the one-day reassessment before your card expires.
