Lean Six Sigma Champion Training & Certification

A course for the people who sponsor improvement work rather than carry it out. Champions select and prioritise projects, remove obstacles, secure resources and hold the programme to account — a different job from running DMAIC, and one that improvement programmes fail without.

Delivery Method

Online (E-learning), self-paced, with unlimited exam retakes

Great For

Senior managers, directors and executive sponsors, heads of function commissioning improvement work, and anyone accountable for the results of a programme they are not personally running.

What It Covers

  • Selecting projects worth doing and declining those that are not
  • Aligning improvement work with business objectives
  • Sponsoring teams, removing barriers and allocating resource
  • Reading project progress and knowing which questions to ask
  • Building a culture where improvement continues without constant sponsorship

Why Sponsors Need Their Own Training

The most common reason improvement programmes stall is not weak technique among practitioners — it is sponsors who commission projects without understanding what they require, then withdraw attention once the launch is over. This course addresses that directly, and is short enough to be realistic for people at that level.

It does not teach you to run a project. If you need that, Green Belt is the course.

Certification

Successful completion earns a GLSS Champion certification. Lean Six Sigma certification is not a regulated qualification and sits outside the Ofqual framework, so confirm what your employer or professional body recognises. Certification requires renewal every two years.

Fees

Fees are set and charged in US dollars by the provider. The figure shown here is a guide only, converted and correct at the time of listing, and group discounts apply on multiple seats — take current pricing from the provider's website.

The approach is project-based rather than lecture-based: you apply the tools to a real process problem in your own workplace as you learn, so the deliverable is a completed improvement project rather than only an exam pass.

For accredited courses a certificate will be sent directly to you from the appropriate awarding body.

For short courses a completion certificate is available at the end of the course.
