Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Training & Certification

An entry-level introduction to Lean Six Sigma for people who will contribute to improvement work rather than lead it. The course covers the DMAIC cycle and the core problem-solving tools, and is built around applying them to a real process rather than working through worked examples.

Delivery Method

Online (E-learning), self-paced, with unlimited exam retakes

Great For

Team members joining an improvement project, supervisors and team leaders, administrative and back-office staff wanting a structured way to tackle recurring problems, and anyone testing whether Lean Six Sigma is worth pursuing further.

What It Covers

  • The five DMAIC phases and what each is for
  • Defining a problem clearly and scoping a process
  • Process mapping and gathering data on current performance
  • Root cause analysis, including the 5 Whys technique
  • Implementing improvements and sustaining the gains

Where Yellow Belt Sits

Yellow Belt is awareness and foundation level. It gives you enough to take part in a project competently and to run small improvements in your own work, but it is not the level organisations look for when appointing someone to lead a project — that is Green Belt.

If you are unsure whether to start here or go straight to Green Belt, the deciding question is whether you will be running projects or supporting them. There are no prerequisites for either.

Certification

Successful completion earns a GLSS Yellow Belt certification, carrying PDUs through the provider's PMI Authorized Training Partner membership. Note that Lean Six Sigma certification is not a regulated qualification and sits outside the Ofqual framework, so check what your employer or professional body recognises. Certification requires renewal every two years.

Course Duration

Around 8 hours, self-paced

Fees

Fees are set and charged in US dollars by the provider. The figure shown here is a guide only, converted and correct at the time of listing, and group discounts apply on multiple seats — take current pricing from the provider's website.
