What is the NEBOSH Fire Certificate?

The NEBOSH Fire Certificate online course is designed for managers and supervisory staff who need to ensure that their organisation meets its responsibilities under fire safety legislation. This qualification will equip holders to carry out fire risk assessments of most workplaces and identify the range of fire protective and preventative measures required. It is therefore suitable for people moving into fire safety adviser roles.

Assessment

The NEBOSH Fire Safety Certificate course consists of two assessments:

FSC1 - An online, open book examination which candidates have 24 hours to complete.

FSC2 - A practical fire risk assessment which candidates are required to complete in their workplace, using frameworks and standards, such as the Home Office fire guidance and PAS79-1:2020.

There is no time restriction for the risk assessment, but three hours is recommended to compile a comprehensive risk assessment. NEBOSH external examiners will evaluate both parts of the assessment.
