IOSH Managing Safely at Fifteen Centres, Live Online or E-learning

Project Skills Solutions is an IOSH specialist rather than a general safety centre, and it runs Managing Safely from fifteen classroom venues spread from Edinburgh to Cardiff, plus live online and self-paced e-learning. IOSH Managing Safely — fifteen centres
IOSH Managing Safely in the classroom at Victoria and Whitechapel in London, Basildon, Chelmsford and Romford in Essex, Dartford, Horley, Milton Keynes, St Neots, Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Manchester, Liverpool and Edinburgh. The three-day qualification for anyone with day-to-day responsibility for people or activities — and with this many venues, the nearest one is rarely more than an hour away.
Managing Safely online and by e-learning
The same qualification runs live online with an instructor and as self-paced e-learning. Having all three formats matters for an organisation training a mixed group — some attending, some remote, some fitting it around shifts — because the certificate is identical whichever route each person takes.
Managing Safely Refresher
The IOSH Managing Safely Refresher, live online. IOSH recommends refreshing Managing Safely every three years, and the refresher is a single day against the original three — considerably cheaper and quicker than re-sitting the full course, which is what people default to when they do not know the refresher exists.
Working Safely — two online formats
IOSH Working Safely both live online with an instructor and as e-learning. This is the workforce-level course — one day, no supervisory content — and it is what most organisations roll out broadly while sending managers to Managing Safely. Browse all IOSH courses.
Managing Occupational Health and Wellbeing
IOSH Managing Occupational Health and Wellbeing as e-learning — a distinct qualification from Managing Safely, focused on health rather than injury. Work-related ill health accounts for the great majority of working days lost in Great Britain, and most safety training barely addresses it. Worth considering alongside Managing Safely rather than instead of it.
Managing Safely or Working Safely?
It follows responsibility, not seniority. Working Safely is one day and covers what every employee should understand about hazards and their own duties. Managing Safely is three days and is for anyone who supervises people, plans work or allocates tasks — including team leaders who would not describe themselves as managers. Sending a supervisor on Working Safely is the common misjudgement, because it leaves them without the risk assessment content their role actually needs.
Which format suits which learner?
Classroom works for people who benefit from a room and a fixed day away from the job. Live online keeps the timetable and the instructor without the travel, which for a three-day course is a real saving. E-learning is cheapest and most flexible but depends entirely on the learner finishing it — for a three-day qualification, instructor-led delivery generally produces better completion than self-paced.
