Workplace safety in the US is regulated by OSHA at federal level and by state plans, and the qualifications here do not replace an OSHA card or a state requirement. They are worth booking for a different reason: UK and multinational employers with US operations often standardise on NEBOSH and IOSH across the group, and staff moving between US and UK or Gulf projects need qualifications that are recognised in all of them.

E-learning — start straight away
Self-paced, on any device, with no session to attend and no timezone to work around. Most courses are in English; where other languages are offered it is stated in the course description, so check before you buy.
Online (instructor-led) — live with a trainer
Scheduled sessions delivered in English only. Times shown are UK time (GMT in winter, BST in summer). The UK is five hours ahead of New York and eight ahead of Los Angeles, so a 09:00 UK session starts at 04:00 Eastern and 01:00 Pacific. Live courses are difficult from the US for that reason — e-learning is usually the better route. A multi-day course means attending every session, so check the dates before booking. CITB SMSTS and SSSTS, including refreshers, run in this format and are booked by contractors working to UK standards worldwide, not only for UK sites.
Distance learning — study at home
Course materials with tutor support, worked through at your own pace. Available internationally.
NVQs — portfolio assessed
Construction and health & safety NVQs are available by distance learning and are booked internationally as well as in the UK. The Level 6 diploma is a recognised route towards chartered membership, and the construction NVQs sit alongside CITB site safety training for anyone working to UK standards. Assessment is portfolio-based against UK national occupational standards — where the candidate is based outside the UK, the provider confirms the assessment arrangements before you book.
Booking classroom courses from the US
Classroom courses are held at venues in the UK and are not listed on this page. You can still book them from the US for anyone in your organisation who lives or works in the UK, or who is travelling in for a project — the billing address does not need to be a UK one.
