IOSH Managing Safely is the standard health and safety qualification for line managers and supervisors, run here as three consecutive days rather than spread across weeks as day release.

It is deliberately practical. The aim is that managers leave knowing what they actually have to do about safety in their own teams, and why that responsibility sits with them. The course applies to any sector and assumes no prior health and safety training.

If you need a course for staff at any level rather than for people who supervise others, IOSH Working Safely is the one-day alternative.

Delivery Method

Delivered at the IOSH-approved training centre at Unit 8, 12 O'Clock Court, 21 Attercliffe Road, Sheffield, S4 7WW. This course can also be run in-house at your own premises or another suitable venue.

Course Criteria

• There are no formal entry requirements for this course.
• No prior health and safety training or experience is assumed.

• Measuring performance

Certification

Successful delegates receive an IOSH Managing Safely certificate. Assessment is by a multiple choice and written paper, plus a practical project completed in your own workplace after the taught days. IOSH recommends refresher training every three years.
