Course Content

Units

EMC1 - Environmental Management

This unit is made up of nine elements and covers the foundations in environmental management through to dealing with environmental emergencies.

EMC2 - Assessing environmental aspects and associated impacts

Is the practical assessment part of the course. It is carried out in the candidate’s workplace, and they must submit the practical assessment within 14 days of the exam date.

NEBOSH Assessment

EMC1: Open Book Exam

Approximately 5-hours to complete.

EMC2: Practical application

Approximately 3-hours to complete.

NEBOSH Exam Overview

The EMC1 open book exam is completed electronically and submitted through the NEBOSH exam portal. You have 24 hours from 11am (UK time) on exam day to complete and submit your exam paper.

You will be requested to review a real-life scenario and answer theoretical and practical questions around environmental management.

The EMC2 is a practical assessment, where learners can assess environmental aspects and impacts on their chosen workplace. This can be completed at a place of work or at home, and is submitted by email according to deadline.

You must successfully pass both units to achieve your full NEBOSH Environmental Management Certificate.

Please note that NEBOSH exam fees are NOT included within the cost. Exam fees are an additional and are paid directly to the training provider when you are ready to sit the examinations.

Prerequisites

There are no entry requirements for this qualification. It is important that you have a suitable standard of English language to understand and articulate the concepts contained in the syllabus. NEBOSH recommends that learners undertaking this qualification should reach a minimum standard of English equivalent to an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 6.0 or higher in IELTS tests.

All of our courses have some audio, so you might want to check you have speakers / headphones set up.

Please note: where audio is provided there will also be a text version of the information so you won’t miss any content by not having audio.

Devices

All of our online learning courses have been developed to give the best learning experience on a desktop or laptop computer, but some of them can now be accessed on tablets, like the iPad or Samsung Galaxy Tab. There are a wide range of tablets on the market and although the courses should work on all of them, to get the best mobile experience we recommend a few things:

• A minimum screen resolution of 1024 x 600, with a recommended screen resolution of 1024 x 768 or higher.
• Generally the standard web browser is the best one to use, so on an iPad, for example, use Safari. You may also need to change a setting in the browser to allow cookies from 3rd parties (you definitely will with Safari).
• The courses are accessed most easily when connected to Wi-Fi rather than mobile data networks. If you do access via a mobile data network please note that you may be charged by your service provider, depending on your contract.

The courses are best viewed in landscape but on occasion you might need to turn to portrait, to close a pop-up for example.
